Treatment

Conditions Treated

We treat headaches, back neck and joint pain and other orthopaedic conditions. We are here to help people of any age; babies, children, athletes, office workers, manual workers and pregnant people.

A very common complaint- and this isn’t down to age!Anyone can get back pain but it is down to our Chiropractors and Massage therapist to find the route course of this pain and to help you overcome it.

Due to the new way of working, technology, sedentary lifestyle and poor habits neck pain is very common. Poor posture also gives rise to neck pain but also weakness in our musculature system will give neck pain.

Sciatica is a symptom not a diagnosis- and it is known to be ‘leg pain’. Most of the time sciatica is due to a disc condition in the low back but it can also be due to tight musculature of the leg and bum.

Headaches can be debilitating and can be down to poor posture, working posture, lack of movement, neck position but also could be and eye problem. Often headaches are stress related and can be due to an unhealthy balance.

Lots of joint pain can be due to poor mechanics which could have been ongoing for many years. This is known as wear and tear. Joint pain can also be due to previous injuries and your body may have adapted to compensate for this history. Joint pain can also be due to Osteoarthritis which is a degeneration to the bones in a joint.

Many expectant mothers suffer with back pain, pelvic girdle pain, pubic symphysis pain, stress, fatigue and pain in the legs. Chiropractic and massage can help reduce these problems so that you can be comfortable- enjoy your pregnancy and to keep mobile throughout. We also know that supporting mothers during their pregnancy helps with their 4th trimester and enables them to recover and rehabilitate quicker.

Babies much like adults have a spine- albeit much smaller they can still feel stresses and pain. We look at the way babies develop and give them the best possible chance to meet milestones with no problems.

Very commonly injuries and problems can arise from being active. Our team are here to help you overcome them and get you back competing and training to your full potential.

Posture is a huge problem across the nation. This is due to working postures, resting posture, technology and lack of movement and health. We want to Change section to an accordion with the following information for each point. help this with Chiropractic, massage and mobility.

Muscle pain can be down to many thing- Posture, sports, work, stress and generally daily life. Our massage team are here to assess your muscle system and improve the strength and tone and reduce the pain you may experience.

Esther Hocking

Soft Tissue Therapist

Esther is a Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapist trained to assess, treat and rehab minor musculoskeletal injuries.

What she really does, is use manual therapy – and neuromuscular pain relieving techniques to help people feel good, move well and live a better and more active life Over the last 15 years, she developed a strong interest in pain, injury and rehabilitation stemming from both her own running injuries and her children’s sports and growth-related aches and pains.

This led her to re-train with the Institute for Sports and Remedial Massage, eventually completing her BTEC LEVEL 5 in Soft Tissue Therapy.

Her personal experience and interests combined with the most up to date evidencebased training and biopsychosocial approach to pain, have helped her become an outstanding, knowledgeable and compassionate therapist. She treats the person rather than the injury.

Esther believes that movement is key to helping people with chronic pain feel better physically as well as mentally.

She practices what she preaches. She regularly and consistently attends Strength & Conditioning sessions at the gym and enjoys long walks and running with her dog She is French and having lived in the Netherlands until the age of 18, also speaks German and Dutch fluently.

Esther moved to London in 1998 before settling down in Cornwall 2008 with her husband and two children.

Kirsty qualified as a Soft Tissue Therapist (level 5) at the end of 2018. She was Predominantly treating friends and family alongside her office job. Kirsty started at Align Chiropractic at the beginning of 2022 providing expert massage to all our clients.

‘I have suffered with lower back pain on and off for years and from having so many treatments myself, I decided to learn about how the human body works and benefits from massage, in order to help my understanding of my back pain, as well as now being able to help others. I too regularly have Chiropractic in order for me to keep doing everything I want to be able to do.

Outside of work I enjoy coastal and moorland walks, running, swimming and even a bit of bouldering. Obviously being Cornish I too enjoy gig rowing for Flushing & Mylor Gig Club.

I look forward to meeting you all and helping you to feel great.

Sarah Murray

Chiropractor DC

After graduating from the University of South Wales with a Masters of Chiropractic, Sarah has over 7 years experience in treating and caring for people with a wide variety of conditions.

‘I first saw a Chiropractic after a car crash on the M5, I was fascinated by it and my Chiropractor encouraged me into the profession. I really love being able to help people feel how I did after my first appointment. There is such a joy from seeing someone recover and embrace Chiropractic into their general wellbeing. I love working with people of all ages, I like the diversity it brings to my day but most of all I like being able to get people to their goals. My approach to care consists of high quality hands treatment, specific rehabilitation, and a heavy emphasis on gaining a movement routine.

Outside of work I enjoy gig rowing with Coverack gig club, walking my Cocker Spaniel Nelly, socialising with friends and family, swimming, sailing and creating a life with my partner Ed.

I look forward to welcoming you into my clinic, listening to you, and working with you to meet your wellbeing goals.’
